Maybe your firm doesn't have IP in-house, but you have a business client needing IP services. Maybe you are doing a deal, and IP is part of that deal. Maybe you do have IP in-house, but there's a client you don't want to take due to conflict or you don't want their business for some other reason. Maybe you're a big firm and can't hit this client's price point. Maybe you don't want to refer to a competitor firm. Maybe you just have too much work and want to take a vacation.
I'll buy you lunch if you can spare the time. I work at home and I like to get out and meet people. Whether or not I get business out of it, I would enjoy getting to know you and your firm.
